I am the Community Outreach Director which means that I oversee our interactions with our local community. We reach out through programs to meet needs and establish relationships as well as develop and grow relationships with city officials, community organizations and our local partners.
My role is to champion and compel our body to live out the gospel in our local and regional context which includes being a witness wherever we go, doing justice motivated out of sacrificial love, and coming alongside others to show them Christ. I love serving the church because God has given enormous power, provision and position to his body to be a part of His great work of reconciling people to Jesus Christ and restoring all of creation to Himself. Influencing and exhorting the body of Christ to understand their position and the task at hand is exciting because we serve a God whose love is never exhausted.
"And what does the Lord require of you, but to do justice, to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God?" Micah 6:8
God knows that I can do very little on my own so he invites me to recognize this and to rest in his power. God is merciful and full of love and since his earliest revelation to humankind, he has been insisting that his people concern themselves with ensuring justice for those whose voice is not given a hearing and who are oppressed.
I’m married to Kyle and we have a son named Ira. I enjoy backpacking, hiking, traveling, reading and word games.
