Praise the Lord God for He is the Almighty God! Thank you for your continued prayers for EmyG. Yesterday she was downgraded from Level IV NICU to Level III!! She no longer needs a 1:1 critical care nurse by her side 24/7! While she is still in critical condition and will be for quite some time, this was an incredible development and a major step towards stability. She still needs the 1:1, 24/7 dialysis nurse by her side, because she is receiving dialysis every 30 minutes and is at high risk for complications for that. But in general things are looking much more hopeful! Please continue to pray for her healing. Pray that her body completely heals over the dialysis catheter that was implanted. Pray that her body continues to positively respond to dialysis and that the quantity of each session can be increased and the amount of fluid they can removed will continue to be more than they put it. Pray that her body is able to handle the small increases in oral nutrition and they are able to increase that to normal levels for her age so she can grow and develop as she should. Our God reigns. EmyG’s life glories Him. We look forward to the day she will join us in singing His praises in worship at NHC.❤️

We are filled with awe of our Almighty God. Today, at 2 weeks 5 days old, our wee Emanuela was finally doing well enough to let Mommy have a chance to hold her. We were all in tears of joy to see the two of them finally together. Poppa’s turn will be in the next day or two. EmyG did very well and was calm and stable while Mommy held her. Please join us in praying Our Father for seeing you the details of EmyG’s life!

I am having surgery on friday, in the morning to replace my left hip due to "referred pain in the left side of my left knee".I've been having terrible pain for a long time, and this should eliminate that problem. This will be my 11th surgery in the last 9 years for different joint replacements trying to stop the osteoarthritis, and should be the last surgery Lord willing, hoping this will restore me to live a normal pain free life in a long time. Please pray for protection for my wife and myself while I am in surgery and the recovery afterward as I return home the same day. Pray also for a deep sense of God's presence and peace, Exo.33:14, Phil.4" 6-7, Prov. 2:7-8, Isa. 54:14. Pray that I will rest in His assurance, His guarding me, wisdom for the surgical staff, most of all for a successful outcome. I always get a litte apprehensive before these surgeries, even after 10 previous ones.Thank You.

EmyG, though still critical, is holding steady. We are all feeling so good with this long stretch without crises. The nephrologist says he will keep the dialysis at the current level until one month from the catheter surgery, which was on the 27th of Nov. Since she is no longer leaking, this will allow the areas around the catheter to continue to heal. Usually, with typical peritoneal dialysis, the patient has some kidney function and can wait until the healing is done, usually a month, before the dialysis is switched on, but EmyG has no kidneys at all and the dialysis had to start 36 hours after the catheter surgery. But for right now, our little gal is stable. She’s very responsive to Poppa and Mommy when they comfort her. She turns her head towards them when they are at her incubator. She reaches for their fingers. She deliberately pulls at her canula and has yanked it out a couple of times. So, she’s doing pretty good for a critically ill little tidbit of humanity. And she is proving to all that life is worth the struggle. Life has value! God’s creation wants life! Thanks for your continued prayers.

Emy-G was doing better through yesterday, but today her peritoneal dialysis catheter is leaking. That is one of the big concerns in doing peritoneal dialysis in babies that are so tiny. Please pray the nephrologist is able to find the leak, repair the peritoneum and set Emanuela on the path to healing again. Please also pray no other leaks develop.
