Well, yesterday’s dr rounds brought a little terror to our hearts. It is looking like the infection is under control and Emanuela is ready to be taken off her 21 day antibiotic on Sunday. However, if the infection is still lurking and it is just the presence of antibiotics making it look like it’s gone, and the evidence of infection returns, the dr says she will have to have a new catheter placed. That would be a return to day one of the dialysis process. The thought of that is just horrifying. She has already been through and conquered so much. God has worked great miracles in Emanuela. We are holding on to hope that the infection is completely conquered and she can be maintained on the current catheter until she is big enough to handle a permanent catheter in a few months. Please continue to hold her in prayer and specifically pray the infection is totally gone.
