Brenda's husband is in the ICU at Abbott after a stroke. He's fighting for his life. Please pray!
I have received news and several prayer requests from my home team in Korea. I ask that you please join me in prayer for the following: 1) We pray for Kenneth Bae, the founder of NGI, who has been admitted into the hospital for complications stemming from a recent surgery. We pray for comfort, reassurance, rest, and healing for him and his family. 2) We pray for our North Korean brothers and sisters who are presently trapped in the countries of NK and China with no escape routes available. At present, all borders have been closed due to CoVID-19, and their very lives are in danger. There are 60 known individuals seeking immediate escape through NGI, and hundreds more unknown who are in hiding. 3) We pray for NGI Korea. Their primary source of funding from the churches in Hong Kong has been cut off due to increased pressure from the government, various waves of protesting and rioting throughout the region, CoVID-19, and the new policy to absorb Hong Kong back into mainland China. This has greatly compromised the North Korean refugee mission work that NGI does, and has created a very uncertain future for them and the refugees they serve. 4) We pray for all of the missionaries and activists in South Korea. The government has just passed a law banning all attempts to send food, bibles, letters, and signs of love and hope into North Korea via balloons, and bottles via the northern current in the Yellow Sea. At last report, the punishment for non-compliance includes a $50,000 fine and up to 7 years in jail. 5) We pray for the people of North Korea. They are facing another devastating blow to their economy and health at the hands of CoVID-19. Aid into the country has ceased. Black market goods are no longer making in either. Public markets have been closed. The country's rationing isn't enough to feed them. An estimated 48% of the population is already malnourished, and this further decline in food access places them at a greater health risk than ever before. We pray for their protection, peace, and the opportunity to hear of the gift of life, forgiveness, restoration, and peace through Jesus Christ. 6) We pray globally for ears that would hear, and hearts that would burn to pray for, reach out to, and provide heartfelt support for the people of North Korea, the secretive, often forgotten nation riddled with oppression and sorrow.
I have been discouraged as I have been back in Bangkok for 3 months, but no opportunities to preach. I would really like to get back into preaching. Also please pray God will bring someone special into my life
