EmyG is stable and continues to recover from the perforated bowel surgery of 10 days ago. Today she is showing signs again of an infection. We are, of course, praying that is not the case. Because she had the bowel surgery, the peritoneal dialysis had to be stopped and the peritoneal dialysis catheter removed. She was place on CRRT, a continuous form of hemodialysis. Because the NICU nursery does not have experience with the CRRT, EmyG was moved to PICU, with the plan to move her back to NICU as soon as she can be placed back on Peritoneal dialysis. Unfortunately, that’s looking a couple months down the road, as her peritoneum has to completely heal before they attempt it again. So, Ezra and Rebekah, EmyG’s mother and father, were staying in a grant provided studio apartment across from the hospital. EmyG has to be in NICU for them to continue using that apartment. So, sadly, they have to move out of that apartment. We live over a half hour away to the north and Rebekah’s parents live about a half hour away to the south. EmyG is still critically ill and in constant need of a parent being there. This move will make it very difficult for Ezra and Rebekah to be present 24/7 and to continue their work and studies, and, of course, financially. So we need prayers that the housing situation is worked out so they can conintue to constantly be with EmyG.
Last week my daughter's boyfriend hung himself in their home. She was staying at my house and discovered his body the next morning. He was a believer. I don't know what he was struggling with other than an ongoing child custody battle and some challenges with their relationship perhaps. My daughter struggles with anxiety/depression and is a recovering alcoholic. This has put her in to a deep depression where she is unable to function. She has a 6 year old son who is currently on spring break and is at my house along with his mom. He hasn't been told yet about the demise. She will be seeing her therapist tomorrow which I'm hopeful will help her. Please keep her in your prayers and the family of her boyfriend. Thank you so very much.
Please continue to pray for my eye/ vision... had complicated cataract surgery in January and it still has problems , blurred vision, do to retina issues. Thank you!
Today, the house of my son, Jon, burned. The insurance representative said they will not be able to get back into it for at least a year. His two youngest sons, Alexander (3) and Jonathan (7) attend class on Sunday mornings. Please pray for this family and a resolution to the problems they now have. We will appreciate your deep concern.
EmyG is out of surgery. It was a perforated bowel. They had to resect a bit of the intestines and remove the catheter, because it had been contaminated. So she is back on hemodialysis while she heals. While the prognosis is good, this is a big set back in her progress toward homecoming and a transplant. It’s been a harrowing week, but I think we are seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. Please keep praying.
EmyG is being taken to surgery. She may have a perforated bowel. She will have the new catheter removed and she will be placed back on CRRT (continuous hemodialysis). Please pray she survives this turn of events. Please pray for Ezra and Rebekah. They are being such strong, faithful parents. Please pray for Rebekah’s parents and for Ravi and I. We all feel so helpless and scared.
