If you're currently in the process of planning an imminent service for a loved one, we are ready to pray with you and help you. Here are some frequently asked questions to help you know where to start.

How do I learn about recent deaths, upcoming funerals and hospitalizations?
Log in to myNHC and pray for families encountering some of the most challenging seasons in life. 

Can anyone hold a funeral service at New Hope Church?
Funeral services are reserved for members and regular attendees of New Hope Church. 

What are my first steps to planning a funeral?
Call Care Ministries at 763-536-3215 (Monday–Friday, 8:30am–4:30pm). After office hours and on weekends, call 763-244-7971

Is there a fee for using the church for funeral services?
There's no facility charge for New Hope Church members and regular attendees to use the facility for funerals. If additional help is needed for custodial and sound ministries, there may be a charge. 

When is the church available for funeral services?
Tuesdays, Thursdays or Fridays. The facility is currently not available outside of this schedule unless there are extenuating circumstances.

Where are funeral services held at New Hope Church?
Depending on availability and the size of the service, they are typically held in the Worship Center or Ministry Center.

Are meals provided for funeral services?
Funeral reception meals are available at a cost per plate. Certain protocols are currently in place for heightened safety during foodservice events due to COVID-19.

What about pastors?
Pastors at New Hope Church are available to officiate funerals at the church as well as at funeral chapels and interment sites. The funeral coordinator will provide pastor availability. Pastors not affiliated with NHC must be approved in advance by the Director of Care Ministries.

What about music for the funeral service?
The New Hope Church Worship Arts team may be available to help you with music arrangements for the service. Family members, friends and outside musicians are also welcome to participate.

What about honorariums?
Full-time New Hope Church staff members do not receive honorariums since assisting with funerals is part of their ministry responsibility. Part-time staff and volunteers, as well as outside participants may accept honorariums. The church funeral coordinator can offer suggested honorarium amounts.

Can the funeral service be recorded?
We provide a link to an audio recording of the service to share with family and friends.
