Walking Toward Jesus as a Family

Walking Toward Jesus as a Family

I am continuously in awe of how God shows my family love and grace as we walk closer to Him. This is how He builds our faith foundation as a family. As a mom, wife and ministry leader, I’m thankful for the opportunity to experience this first hand while helping to equip families to do the same.

This summer, I encourage your family to be a “Family-on-the-Go.” Remember that you are a family:

    • Geared and designed by Christ Jesus on purpose and with purpose.
    • On mission to reflect the gospel to others.

I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. Psalm 139:14

    Family Opportunities
As we walk in the promise and knowledge that Christ created us in His image, we can be encouraged to live out His purposes for our lives. This is experienced individually and as a family as we see His creation reflected in us.

    • Go on a family walk and talk about God’s creation in nature. Thank Him. Together, draw a family picture. Write in your family journal or talk about how you see God’s creation reflected in your family. Encourage one another by expressing how each family member has been created by Jesus.
    • Share Christ with neighbors with an invitation to a meal.

For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died. And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again. 2 Corinthians 5:14-15

    Family Opportunities
The gospel calls your family to reflect Jesus. Watch for opportunities to do this together.

    • Choose a portion of scripture to read aloud together on a regular basis. As you read, reflect on how it is encouraging and compelling your walk with Christ. Then talk about ways to show these promises to others.
    • As a family, pray that Christ opens doors to share and to live out the gospel to those He brings in to your life path.
