Disability Ministry
The Disability Ministry has a variety of opportunities to serve on Sunday mornings and Tuesday evenings. Come use your gifts and talents to serve and love individuals with disabilities. Whether it’s once a week or once a month, we have a place for you.
An application process is required, including a background check. Training and support will be provided (no previous experience required).
One-on-One Buddy
Volunteers (ages 11+) needed to be a buddy for a child who needs individual support and attention during the kid's Sunday morning program at 10:30am. Some responsibilities include staying with the child, helping them participate in the lesson and with their group.
Christian Glory Club Volunteer
Volunteers (age 15+) needed to serve adults with cognitive disabilities on Tuesdays at 6:45–8:15pm. Volunteers get to know some new friends and help with crafts, games, snacks and/or skits.
Friendship Class volunteer
Volunteers (ages 15+) serve adults with disabilities on Sundays at 10:30–11:30am. They assist with preparation and engaging the participants in prayer, worship, the lesson and small group.
DISABILITY DONATIONS
Donate new items for Christian Glory Club's Bible Bingo. Drop off donations labeled “Glory Club Bible Bingo” at the reception desk lobby or at the Care offices. Donating prizes is a tangible way to extend encouragement and care.
Suggested Donations:
- Personal care products (soap, body spray)
- Boxed cereals and snacks
- Craft supplies (coloring books, crayons, markers, watercolors paint, beads)
- Sports memorabilia
- Christian family-friendly movies or CDs
- Easy puzzles or word searches
- Hats, mittens and scarves
- Jewelry
- Decorations
