Serve at the Food Shelf

Donations can be dropped off at HopeBridge during food shelf hours (Thursdays, 4–8pm or Saturdays, 9am–noon) or at the New Hope Church Main Campus (4225 Gettysburg Ave N, New Hope) Monday–Friday, 8:30am–4:30pm.


Personal Items: Toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoo and conditioner, feminine hygiene products, Band-Aids and antiseptic ointment

Household: Laundry and dish detergents, paper towels, Kleenex, toilet paper, bar soap, paper bags

Dry Goods: Coffee, tea, hot chocolate mix, baking mixes, packaged cookies




Prayer Warrior (1–2 hours/week)        
Receive prayer request emails and pray for the volunteers and clients visiting the food shelf. 


Food Shelf Supervisors
Coordinate the operation of the food shelf during open hours.

  • First shift: Open food shelf, check-in and oversee volunteers, greet clients, maintain order and cleanliness of the facility and troubleshoot as needed. Share salvation decision stories with the Community Outreach Director. Meet with second shift supervisor for smooth transitions.
  • Second shift All the responsibilities of the first shift supervisor, except for opening the food shelf. Close the food shelf at the end of the shift.

Intake Workers
Facilitate first-time client registration and repeat client check-in. Following intake, assist client with non-perishable shopping. Build relationships with the clients and determine other areas the client may need assistance.

Food Packagers
Fill client food orders from the freezers, refrigerator and produce table.


Thursdays, 3:30–6:15pm & 5:45–8:30pm
Saturdays, 8:30–10:45am & 10:15am–12:30pm

  • Attend HopeBridge volunteer training.
  • Attend the HopeBridge Food Shelf orientation.
  • Make New Hope Church your consistent place of worship.
  • Be a high school student or older (unless accompanied by a parent).
  • Commit to serving at least one shift per month.
