My role as Global Outreach Director is multi-faceted: providing care for New Hope Church’s global partners, identifying and working with those God is leading toward global ministry, and helping our church family and partners fulfill their place in the “missio dei”—the mission of God.

I was called to global ministry in 1981 and have served full-time since 1985. Over those 35 years, I acquired a wide-range of experience that helps me see global ministry from many points of view. The church, the ministry field and partner agencies all have different perspectives and priorities. I trust my experience to help me serve each of them well.

Since my earliest days as a believer, the words of God to the exiles through Jeremiah 29:13 have driven my personal and ministry convictions. "You will seek me and you will find me, when you seek with all your heart.”

I have been married to my dearest friend and helpmate Jo, since 1986. We have three grown children. I love to sing and play multiple instruments passably well. I write funny stories and poems when I have the time, and I love movies and the arts, particularly paintings. Yet, of all the things I do or have done in my life, the word that I hope best defines me is father, since there is no higher name in heaven.
